talk about FOOD
i don't want to forget the fabulous dessert cheese plate i brought for a recent holiday gathering. so here are the ingredients: wedges of lemon stilton cheese and dolce gorgonzola cheese; dates, walnuts, wafer thin crackers, ripe pears (sliced). the flavor and texture combo was delish!

make it happen vs. maybe we need LESS to do
make it happen vs. maybe we need LESS to do…
while my masseuse was therapeutically rearranging my musculature i was trying to chillax and meditate/silently repeating my mantra. i was stunned by the fact that i could not let go of my attachment to formulating lists in my head instead of taking the opportunity to surrender. next time i will try making a preemptive list (before getting into the car) of all possible “categories” that i might muse about during my “scheduled 55 minutes of relaxing massage” in an effort to circumvent the pesky dominance of my right brain. perhaps that will afford me some peace and respite. or…i can swap my mantra for visual imagery of myself throwing back tequila shots?!

yo mama vs "postcards from yomamma"
Sometimes… I think I’m having a panic attack.
And then I realize I just have to poop.
"postcards from yomama"
so when "postcard yo" then when on to talk about her "fiber" site i assumed it was about the kind you eat so that you can be a "regular" yomama or yomamma. silly me. i totally missed the "stitch and bitch" clue... which was actually a cover for an entry that lead to the her wearing that anatomical mask at the bachelorette party... busted!
i did love the moose rut comment. it truly sounds like something i would say.
now i need to get back to saying the things i would say in my blog. i'll get back to doing that soon.

ouch
one day post-op discomfort. my caretaker is doing a great job saving me from myself. i got caught using my crutches as chopsticks to pick up and toss things across the floor. caretaker was not pleased with my risky business. trying to behave and occupy myself with non-active doings. tv, newspapers, mags, i was saving computer time, but here i am. after this i may give in to the pain meds and chill-ax with a crossword-induced nap. caretaker is going for a bike ride and made me promise to be good.

a cautionary tale of confusing communication
my yogi ginger tea tag told me today: recognize that the other person is you.
also, when regarding "the other person" consider not what they will think, but that "they don't really care" (as in going on and ON filling airspace with sounds from your mouth and holding a person hostage to your details---please, have mercy!)
on the other hand, yomama cares. about the power of words... as symbols. or symbols that speak words.
beware of using others' words to represent how clever or funny you are when those others are embarrassing themselves and you are jumping on for the ride.
and there you are, left either with .. or.. without... your dignity.
watch what you tattoo across the canvas of your life. sometimes it is indelible or at least costly to reverse.
that's all.

She's Baaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!
i found my link today on monica's new blog address site. OMG there's january and NOTHING. well, you know what "they" say: have a good beginning and a great finish. so, the mid-year drop out silence is what it is. it does not mean that nothing happened, it means that nothing was written about it.
perhaps i will regress and cover the highlights of the skiing, travel, out of town remodel, wedding attended, my trip to the ashram, volunteer experiences, wedding thrown, german visitors, monica's return.... etc.
of course i'd rather write about food. this week: devil's food (a cafe on gaylord street). ah, the challah french toast and artichoke/brie omelette with herb bread toast..... we all know hell on earth--- but alas, here is a taste of the flipside ..... heavenly bites of grace.
