ouch

one day post-op discomfort. my caretaker is doing a great job saving me from myself. i got caught using my crutches as chopsticks to pick up and toss things across the floor. caretaker was not pleased with my risky business. trying to behave and occupy myself with non-active doings. tv, newspapers, mags, i was saving computer time, but here i am. after this i may give in to the pain meds and chill-ax with a crossword-induced nap. caretaker is going for a bike ride and made me promise to be good.

a cautionary tale of confusing communication

my yogi ginger tea tag told me today: recognize that the other person is you.

also, when regarding "the other person" consider not what they will think, but that "they don't really care" (as in going on and ON filling airspace with sounds from your mouth and holding a person hostage to your details---please, have mercy!)

on the other hand, yomama cares. about the power of words... as symbols. or symbols that speak words.

beware of using others' words to represent how clever or funny you are when those others are embarrassing themselves and you are jumping on for the ride.

and there you are, left either with .. or.. without... your dignity.

watch what you tattoo across the canvas of your life. sometimes it is indelible or at least costly to reverse.

that's all.

She's Baaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!

i found my link today on monica's new blog address site. OMG there's january and NOTHING. well, you know what "they" say: have a good beginning and a great finish. so, the mid-year drop out silence is what it is. it does not mean that nothing happened, it means that nothing was written about it.

perhaps i will regress and cover the highlights of the skiing, travel, out of town remodel, wedding attended, my trip to the ashram, volunteer experiences, wedding thrown, german visitors, monica's return.... etc.

of course i'd rather write about food. this week: devil's food (a cafe on gaylord street). ah, the challah french toast and artichoke/brie omelette with herb bread toast..... we all know hell on earth--- but alas, here is a taste of the flipside ..... heavenly bites of grace.
